We are excited to expose our students to some wonderful Spring science and social studies' themes. During the next few months they will be learning about weather, the season of Spring, St. Patrick's Day, insects, plants, and Ocean animals. We will begin the month of March by celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday and reading his books in class. As always we will strive to making their learning meaningful and fun!
Reading:
letter recognition and letter sound identification; sight word; recognition; concepts of print; rhyming words; listening comprehension
Math:
count and the number sequence; number names and count sequence, and count to tell number of objects; addition and subtraction, model, read and write teen numbers; represent; compare; and order sets of 20; model, read and write numbers 11 through 20; and positions & sorting
Writing:
practicing correct formation of upper and lower case letters; first and last names; starting a sentence with a capital letter and ending a sentence with correct punctuation; writing to inform; opinion writing
Science:
STEM project
